the future: design a garden without water...

I wonder if the future of my garden is a planting design with plants that require little water. Given the scarcity of available water I wanted to find a solution to my garden and the first thing I did a search on the web: results all suggest the succulents. But in my stubbornness are not so satisfied, I think there are other solutions, with native plants. Well my search continues .. I recommend it and if you have suggestions post it as well.
